The refreshing quality that distinguishes Vethathiri Maharishi from other philosophers
is his ebullient readiness to answer any query from any member of the audience before
him. His strident theory is that there is no question I without an answer, just
as there is no lock without a key. No wonder he has handled the questions posed
by the theme of this book in all aspects. The value of the treatise may be judged
from the fact that other philosophers have skirted the subject or simply shrugged
it off, for a variety or reasons.
This exposition is based on a lecture delivered by Vethathiri Maharishi in the United
States some years back. Swamiji's audience for the most part consisted of academicians
and scientists, whose interest in the subject has only been growing since. The wonderment
of the scientific community has been increasing at Swamiji's perspicacity in setting
out by revelation what is attempted to be confirmed later by the implements and
instruments of science.
As the same points are posed to him for clarification in many cities and towns,
in India and abroad, we felt a record in print would serve a useful purpose to seekers
the world over.
