When human civilization was young, education and literature were rare. In such periods, the enlightened people made efforts to spread their revelations for the welfare and peace of mankind.

In the course of their efforts they framed the path of religious devotion (Bhakthi). Under this system they glorified the divine power in imaginative ways. They exalted this divine force and created a belief that God will reward those who worship Him with all the comforts of life. They further created and described an imaginary place called “Heaven”, claiming that those who indulge in good deeds and lead a virtuous life will be accorded a place there by God. They did this in order to motivate the innocent people to engage in good acts. In order to strengthen the inducement to perform good deeds, they created another imaginary indulges in bad or evil acts will be forced to go there and be subject to unbearable sufferings. Thus they induced people to carry out good deeds by elaborating the joys of Heaven and threatened them by instilling a sense of fear about Hell so that they would not indulge in unwanted activities. In those days people accepted the belief if such illusory places as Heaven and Hell, and adhered to the preaching of the learned persons and, to a great extent, desisted from indulging in unwanted activities. In this way the devotional path was successful according to the expectations of the preachers.

In today’s scientific era, people are no longer able to believe such imaginative stories about the divine. It has now become essential to propagate the enlightened explanation of the universal law of cause and effect.

The Divine omniscient consciousness assigns results according to the nature of actions. Mankind should realize this truth and perform good deeds with awareness, resulting in benefit to himself and to society. The prosperity of life is created by our own deeds. As the self-surrounding compression force of the Almighty is present everywhere and in every object, any motion or action will give appropriate result, according to the divine justice. At present and in the future mankind must accept the justice of the law of cause and effect.

If the action is good, the result will also be good. Neglecting this understanding, if one simply implores God to grant his wishes, no great results can be expected. Mankind has realised this truth in the light of scientific advancement. Hence, in this age, it is the duty of the intellectuals to impart the law of cause and effect through education and cultural reforms to enable the people to lead a life of clarity and wisdom. The misconception should be avoided that we can do anything and avoid being penalised, achieving whatever we want just by offering prayers to God.

As the compassion of the Almighty is fully present everywhere, in every contact with an object or living being one can obtain the desired results if one’s actions are done with awareness. Everyone should realise this truth, and all religious leaders should strive to help humanity achieve this goal of understanding.

The age of illusory belief that God will grant one’s wishes in return for the food provided to Him has gone. Nowadays, most of the people have understood the nature of God to some extent. God has no physical form; hence, there are no physical feelings or needs for God. Further, through educational advancements people have also realised that this Universe itself is the manifestation of God.

Human culture has to refine itself according to the advancements in knowledge over time. If the way of living is not in harmony with the culture and natural law, then mankind will be left with increasing suffering and disappointment.

These days, great thinkers are increasing in every sphere of life. It is easy for such people to inculcate the law of cause and effect in the educational system. If they neglect their duty to introduce this in time, life will be in darkness and human life will suffer by obstruction and distortion. In this age of enlightened thinkers, I feel the above exposition is sufficiently clear to convey my point.

This is the age when the law of cause and effect could be accepted, understood and successfully utilized for benefits in life. The contemporary intellectuals should realize their responsibilities in this regard and should start working towards this goal immediately. Without their able guidance mankind as a whole cannot become enlightened about the truth of the law of cause and effect.

I sincerely entreat the eminent intellectual all over the world to bring forth this truth through examples such as the following: Whenever the food, rest, work, sexual activities and use of thought-force are over-indulged or improperly used, we find that the related organs are adversely affected. A simple example such as this can make the people understand the law of cause and effect.
