The Aliyar Ashram is the home of the Vethathiri Maharishi Kundalini Yoga and Kayakalpa
Research Foundation, founded by Shri Vethathiri Maharishi in 1985. In a beautiful
natural setting at the foothills of the Western Ghats and in view of the Aliyar
reservoir, the Temple of Consciousness is the focus for a silent revolution, transforming
the lives of thousands of people, irrespective of creed, color, race, religion or
nationality.

Objective
This research foundation shares the aims and objectives of WCSC and imparts the
teachings of Shri Vethathiri Maharishi on a regular basis.
The Ashram provides knowledge that help human beings realize and manifest their
divinity.

The Center provides essential education for
- Knowledge of one's body, mind and life energy; their interactions, processes and
practices to strengthen and streamline them.
- Knowledge of true relationship between individual and society.
- Knowledge of true relationship between individual and the all pervading Almighty
Unified Force.

Vallalar Mandapam
|
|
|
With the blessing of Nature Mother, a pleasantness, harmony and peace surrounds
the entire ashram. It can be felt when we make our steps through the ashram. One
such place is the Vallalar mandapam, Vallalar's statue is housed in an beautifully
designed enclosure. Vallalar is the one great saints of TamilNadu. He was considered
as his pioneer by Swamiji.

Auditorium
|

In order to accommodate the increasing visitors to Aliyar, a auditorium has been
built. Having a seating capacity of about 800 persons, this forms the venue for
most of the courses and Swamiji's evening lectures (when the number of members attending
are quite large).

Administrative office
|
|
|
This is the administrative office block, any queries, guidances and clarification
regarding the ashram and the courses held here can be done at this office.

Dining
|
|
|
There are spacious Dining Halls. Wholesome South Indian vegetarian food is served.
|

Accommodation
|
|
|
There are 48 double rooms with attached bath facilities. A few air-conditioned rooms
are also available. In addition to this, there are separate dormitories for men
and women. Only those who are attending a course or who come with a letter of introduction
from their local SKY Centre are permitted to stay overnight.

In detail

|
|
The Aliyar Ashram forms the core of education provided here. Meditation, Understanding
of Truth, practice of Introspection and physical exercises have been so beautifully
synthesized and simplified that it is found easy to glide into a life of freedom
and fulfillment without having to forgo one's usual way of living or normal routines.

Different levels of residential courses are conducted here. The Basic Course, called
"Personality Development Course" is of 6 days duration. It provides a thorough grounding
in meditation, Kayakalpa yoga, introspection and physical exercise. One can opt
to further attend introspection courses of 4 different levels. Among the courses
conducted here, expect Brahma Gnanam and Master courses, all other courses are conducted
in other WCSC Affiliated Centres. Swamiji bless the course participants and issues
them certificates.

Vision

Vethathiri Maharishi Institute for Spiritual and Intuitional Education (VISION)
is a unique Institution which provides residential spiritual education. At present
a 4 month course is offered to anyone who wishes to have a good grounding on the
education for life based on Vethathiri Maharishi's teachings and philosophy.

Siddha Clinic

|
There is a Charitable Siddha Clinic, Jothi Siddha Clinic in the premises. It is
staffed by a full-time registered Siddha medical practitioner.

Organic Farm and Dairy
|
|
|
A small organic farm and a dairy provide a perfect setting apart from being of great
utility.

Manimandapam
|
|
|
Manimandapam is the place where the Samadhi of Swamiji, the supremest Guru of this
century has been built. Seekers feel the presence of their Guru’s magnetism and
genetic center every time when they visit this sacred place. The truth in his divine
message is experienced by all seekers here.

Brain Trust
|
|
|
A wing of the WCSC to bring together intellectuals in different fields to discuss,
find solutions and draw up action plan for harmony, peace and prosperity at micro
and macro levels.

Cottages
|

|
There are a few cottages built for the Staff.
|

Omkara Mandapam
|
|
|
The centerpiece of the campus is the Temple of Consciousness, which is consecrated
to raising the consciousness of individuals and the whole of humanity. Unlike other
temples, there are no idols or formal rituals here. It is open to all. Group meditations
and lectures for participants of various courses and for the general public are
the major activities here.
The Temple is an architectural beauty, built in the shape of vernacular OM and so
it is known as Omkara Mandapam.

Apart from the main meditation hall, there is a smaller room where classes are held
for smaller groups. At the basement is a meditation hall for advanced practitioners.
Maharishi had his living room upstairs. As he used to say, his room is multi-purpose:
It served as his drawing room, study, office, library, bedroom etc.! Simplicity
was the hallmark of Swamiji. This room, after the mahasamadhi of Swamiji, is open
for visit to spiritual seekers.

Directions to reach the Ashram
|
|
|
The Ashram is situated at a distance of about 65 kilometers from Coimbatore, a major
city of Tamil Nadu in South India. Coimbatore is well connected by Air, Rail and
Road. The town of Pollachi is 45 Km, south of Coimbatore. The ashram is situated
on the Pollachi - Vaalparai main road, 2 Km. beyond the Aliyar Dam. One can take
a taxi from Coimbatore Airport, Railway station or bus stand which would cost between
Rs.600 and Rs.800. Those who wish to travel by bus should get to the Coimbatore
Ukkadam bus stand and board a bus to Pollachi, which plies every three minutes.
From Pollachi bus stand one can take the town bus (route number 37A and 37B) or
take a bus to Navamalai or Vaalpaarai, or get a taxi for a fare of about Rs. 250.
Similarly, from Coimbatore and other cities one can reach Pollachi and proceed to
the Ashram. (Pollachi is a 3-hour drive by car from Coimbatore Airport).
